We’ve recently released a new feature called Speedtest. Available on our Cellular and Ethernet Agents (v2.21.0 and v6), it allows you to natively do Ookla Speedtest and see different metrics such as : Jitter, Latency, Download and Upload speed but also Latency.
It’s also possible to use a specific server. If you do not want to specify a server, we’ll use the best available server.
Let’s create your first Speedtest on your Cellular (or ethernet) agent
Step #1 - your test name
In order to create your first speedtest on your agent, you will as usual need to give a name to your test. In our example, we’ve chosen 4G / Speedtest but you can use any name that you wish.
Step #2 - Define your test’s parameters
Depending on your agent, after adding the name, you will need to add the 1st step of your test.
By selecting the Ookla Speedtest action, you will have to choose the owner (the SIM or the ethernet agent) and other parameters as the server - you can use one you trust or choose the best available one, specify the Access technology and APN details or can also use default values.
You can also define an assertion. Let’s say you want your Updload/Download speed to not go below a specific threshold, using assertion you can define this threshold and the test will fail if the metrics are below the threshold.
Here is how the result of the Ookla Speedtest looks like
